What is this Project?
The City of Fayetteville is working with aquatics firm Water Technology Inc. to develop an Aquatics Feasibility Study for the Parks, Natural Resources and Cultural Affairs Department. Through extensive public input, market analysis and a review of aquatics trends, this project aims to build on the department’s 2023 Parks and Recreation System Master Plan by analyzing the community’s needs and desires related to aquatics facilities.
Why is it Important?
This is the first Aquatics Feasibility Study in Fayetteville’s history. Wilson Park Pool began as a creek and swimming hole 100 years ago before being developed into a public swimming pool. The current pool was built on top of the old facility nearly 100 years ago and is nearing the end of its useful life. This study will guide the future of aquatics in Fayetteville, aiming to bring modern facilities and features that better serve the entire community.
