Fayetteville adopted the Northwest Arkansas Regional Comprehensive Safety Action Plan in 2023 and a goal of eliminating all fatal traffic crashes by 2030. 

Fayetteville's Vision Zero Strategy was awarded a $25 million Federal grant under the Safe Streets and Roads for All program. Fayetteville's strategy focuses on infrastructure improvement projects on five "High-Injury Corridors" and a community-wide education and awareness campaign.
